There are two parts to each session. First of all, the doctor reshapes the edge of the lips so that it is lifted and the vermillion part of the upper lip looks visibly higher. The injections are made into the vermillion border (where the upper lip meets the vermillion zone) using a very fine needle and at regular intervals. A little string of product is deposited, which subtly reshapes the edge of the lips and creates a sensual Cupid’s bow. Then we do the same to the lower lip. The mouth is immediately enhanced. Step two: We reshape too-thin lips and make them look more glamorous by injecting hyaluronic acid into the mucous membrane.

They are instantaneous and long-lasting, but temporary. The lips look natural, discretely plumper, perfectly-shaped and radiant with health. Immediately afterwards, this treatment erases fatigue and all of the marks that make the lips look pinched and empty.

The procedure will need repeating after twelve to fifteen months as the hyaluronic acid is resorbed by the body, which means the results gradually fade away.

Applying an ice pack and taking some arnica granules before and after treatment can rapidly reduce any possible side effects: mild oedema, bruising, redness, inflammation. Counterindications include pregnancy, breastfeeding, anti-acne treatment with vitamin A derivatives, previous injections of non-resorbable products into the same area.

For a harmonious result without risking ending up with a “duck-face” pout due to overfilling, it is a good idea to evaluate the results after the first session. Then, if a more marked result is required, we can schedule another session three weeks later.
